Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is light straw, very light, off white head that presents thin and dissipates to ring, no lacing.
Smell is light toast, light pilsner malt, no hops.
Taste is simple but flavorful with light pilsner malt, some biscuit, light fruity malt sweetness, limited hop grassiness.
Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation which allows for pleasant malt character to develop, light sweetness, low bitterness.
Overall an extra easy drinking, pleasantly malty light lager.

A thanks to the founding father of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a yellow./whitish color with a 1 inch head. Smell is mild, some malts. Taste is of malts, light hops, a touch of pears. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a refreshing beer,

I am reaching my upper limit with St. Boniface since they see fit to CANment on my reviews & check-ins. Okay, they claimed their brewery on this site, but they are not keeping up with pics for their beers, leaving it to users. Fair dinkum, but that is a great way to have beers fall into my backlog as they await the taking & resizing of a pic as well as its approval. SMH.
This was brewed to CANebrate the 225th anniversary of the Lancaster Newspaper Group. My approved pic shows the part of the label that depicts a statue in Steinman Park of a newspaper reader. They were my first job, as a paper carrier from ~ 1976/'77 until I left for Boot Camp in August 1983, following high school graduation. I won "Outstanding Carrier of the Year" in 1980 & "Salesman of the Quarter" in the Spring & Fall of 1981. It was quite disappointing when they wrote a scathing editorial about me during my 2013 mayoral CANpaign. I have given up on them for a number of reasons, starting with that piece of yellow journalism, CANtinuing with their moving their printing operations out of Lancaster & finalizing with the idea that they are a mere shadow of their former self, CANsolidating from a Morning, Afternoon & Sunday to simply Daily & Sunday. Bah. Bye, LNP!
I pulled out my certificates to gaze upon as I Crack!ed open the vent on this CANmemorative CAN. I was inspired to begin a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into my fav Pils/Lager glass. This ActCAN resulted in the formation of just under two fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, bone-white head with decent retention. Color was Pale-Straw (SRM = 1 - 2) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a nice biscuity maltiness, clean, adjunct-free with only a kiss of the hops. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was that of a simple, clean, pre-Pro Lager. It was malty, but not too sweet, bitter, but only lightly & definitely quaffable. Finish was semi-dry, crisp & highly refreshing. It would be mighty good on a hot, humid Summer's day, but I found myself wishing for a hand-twisted Lancaster Co. hard pretzel as an acCANpaniment. YMMV.

Put this in the cooler on your next summer barbecue. Your guests will thank you. If you're read any of my reviews you know it's all about what the beer invokes in me. I'm with the late, great Justin Wilson who said that the kind of wine (or beer) you drink is the kind you like. I like this beer. That's the subjective part. YMMV. Now onto the objective review.
Look: Golden light. Think Coors light but lighter.
Smell: Nothing that jumps out at me.
Taste: Do not take this as a negative - it has a bit of Angry Orchard light apple taste. Not malty, not hoppy, just a bit fruity without being a sweet beer.
Feel: Smooth as silk. A slight bit of carbonation.
Overall: I remember the first time I tried Budweiser on tap thinking I would understand why every bar serves Bud or Miller or Coors and people drink it by the gallon. I still don't get it. All of these lack the taste of what 225 brings to the table. Damn it people. I'm not looking to drink beer for the sake of downing mass quantities. I'm drinking beer to enjoy the taste. St. Boniface 225 just tastes good.

Had this on 2019-05-22 from a 12oz canned on 2019-03-16
A - Clear straw with a 1-finger white head that drops quickly leaving mild lace
S - Pils malt, pear, floral.
T - Pils malt, pear cider, earthy and floral. On the sweet side with mild bitterness. I quite enjoyed the flavor.
M - Light body and medium-high carbonation.
O - Enjoyed this local beer quite a bit. It was brewed in celebration of our local Lancaster Newspaper's (LNP) 225th anniversary this year (2019).
