Lucia, named for the patron saint of wheat, boasts a rich malt character with a wonderful notes [sic] of banana, spice and berry fruit derived from the authentic German yeast strain used during fermentation. Ideally pairs with a wide variety of holiday desserts, it is the perfect companion to bread puddings and mince pies. Or enjoy it as dessert itself, Prost!

$7 for 12 oz at Atwoods, Somerville MA

Dark orange with a tight head. Some lacey drapery even after the retention collars. Strong spice and apricot preserves aroma. Bruised apple, apricot preserves and spice flavor. Very dry. Aftertaste like leaving ibuprofin without the coating on your tongue for too long.

Idle Hands is always good and often great.

Picked this one up at the brewery the other day. Poured a 750mL corked and caged bottle into a weizen glass/ pilsener glass. Bottled on 11/07/13

Lucia's Bounty pours a hazy copper color with very little head. The aroma is heady with banana and cloves. The flavor follows suit with a light ester-y banana and clove flavor that finishes with a relatively clean and crisp cutoff. The mouthfeel leaves a little to be desired. Not as much effervescence as I would have liked here, Overall, this beer is worth a try. I would buy it again, but wouldn't make a special trip for it.
