Light, semi-clear dark caramel color in a Brooklyn Oktoberfest Stein.
Aroma is on the weaker side- bready, malt.
Light body, perhaps too light for the style.
Taste is quite good. Bready, malt, toasty.
Not much bitterness in the finish.
Good beer, not the best in the style I’ve tasted.
A few improvements needed- slightly heavier body, and a stronger aroma

Can from last weeks homebrew comp.
Dark brown in color with decent clarity and ruby at the edges with a frothy off white head that dissipates. Bready toasty maltiness with hints of caramel and chocolate. Faint floral hops to counter. Should be more toasty, but it is tasty.

16oz. can dated 10/28/20
Pours a mostly clear dark maroon red-brown nearing black with a creamy frothy light khaki colored foam head with decent lacing and retention. Smells rich and malty yet light and refreshing, fruity, clean, some notes of light chocolate, caramel, toasty bread, mild nutty toffee, sweet molasses, some dried fruit like apricot, plum, hints of red and black grape, cola, with floral earthy herbal noble spice hops. Aromas are moderately intense. Tastes a bit more rich in malt character, dark toasted rich bread crust, chocolate notes, caramel, nutty toffee, sweet molasses, amber honey, dried fruits like apricot, plum, red grape, concord grape, a touch of cola, and earthy herbal floral noble spice hops, finishing with rich nutty dark toasted bready malts lingering. Moderate high intensity and concentration of flavors, not overly so though for a rich dunkel lager, and remains clean, light, drinkable and refreshing in the end. Feels medium bodied, soft and light, airy and creamy, slick with moderate crisp carbonation. Overall a really nice local dunkel lager.

Light bodied with nice round maltiness and a bit of bitter char at the back end. Brown with tan head dissipating quickly. Light bread aroma. Light pecan and malt.

Pours a dark, ruddy brown with garnet highlights and a finger of light tan head. Aroma is full of dark malts that verge on chocolate and roasty. Taste mirrors the aroma, lots of dark malts evoking caramel, chocolate and toasty, almost roasty notes but staying short of burnt. Very smooth and clean, finish is a little sweet. Medium+ body and carbonation. I really like, dare I say love, this beer. It’s the perfect balance of dark malts with a clean lager character. This might not be the prototypical example of the style but it is incredibly tasty and drinkable. There is enough going on for me to focus on the beer and contemplate it’s subtleties but I can also happily drink this in a more social, absent minded way.

Look: Medium brown in color with flashes of red; translucent. Pours with a huge 3+ finger off-white head the dies down fast without a trace.
Smell: Mild aromas of coffee, chocolate, malt and a slight bit of hops.
Taste: Similar to smell, only richer. Coffee, mild chocolate, sweet malt with an extremely mild hoppy finish. Nice flavor, though nothing earth-shattering about it.
Feel: On the lighter side. Thin, slightly syrupy with a mild dry finish.
Overall: A nice, mild flavored dark lager. Think of a very light version of a good stout and this would be it. Would be a great choice on a hot day when you want a lighter-bodied beer yet crave that dark beer flavor. Decent.

Poured from a 16.9oz bottle into a pilsner glass.
A: The beer is a medium brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains chocolate, lager yeast, caramelized malts and a faint touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out with a nice and strong chocolate flavor for the style. Then some hearty breadiness comes in from lager yeast and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.
M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.
O: Very tasty, goes down quite easily, not too filling, mild kick, very good representation of style, this is a very good beer to drink for a long time if you’re in the mood for the style.
