We took our 3rd Anniversary porter, affectionately known as Leather, and aged it in a single bourbon barrel for 8 months. In that time, the roast subsided, and a wonderful chocolate character emerged with notes of vanilla, oaky bourbon and a touch of sherry. Taste it side by side with fresh Leather and get a perspective on what barrel treatments do.

Black with brown tinting with a two finger tan head. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, toasted caramel, bourbon, vanilla, wood and of course leather in the nose. Taste mirrors the nose, great roast malt depth, barrel shape palate with warm and flavoring. Feel is warm, chewy, and roasted. Great porter

Pours a dark brown with a tan head that quickly dissipates. Some roast and caramel on the nose. Flavor is very well balanced between dark malt and barrel. Creamy mouthfeel. Much better than the non-BA version
