A: Pours black with a big fizzy light brown head. Decent head retention and lacing.
S: Ohhhh yeah. That is a glorious aroma. Lots of marshmallow and bittersweet chocolate. Toasted sugars, caramel and some oak to boot.
T: Not quite as bold as the aroma but still there in spades. Generous bourbon flavors with tons of oak and caramel. Light marshmallow backing. Lots of robust dark chocolate in there, especially in the middle and finish. Finish and aftertaste are oaky and marshmallow-y again, with some pure bourbon lingering.
M: A little on the thin side if I'm honest. I think the base beer might be a little weak at only 7% and the bourbon is thinning it out even more than that (as it usually does). It's not awful but it's definitely missing a bit of body.
O: Hell of a bourbon-heavy porter. If the porter were more of the imperial variety I think this beer would be stellar. It's still quite good don't get me wrong, I just feel like the bourbon overwhelms it a bit. Delicious bourbon however with a nice porter base peeking through where it can.
