This is still our Citra hop focused flagship IPA with the same amounts of supporting hops: Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe, Columbus, and El Dorado. We're still keeping our rich foundation of tropical mango and passionfruit flavors and aromas. We're still keeping the balanced bitterness that snaps the palate back to attention and ready for the next sip. But, what we are doing is doubling down on the citrus fruit character. Expect amplified flavors of grapefruit juice with an extra hint of candied orange peel in the aroma. With that added citrus kick, you'll be looking for rich and fatty foods to pair with it; think along the lines of soft washed rind cheeses, buttered and sautéed vegetables or with slices of aged salami.

32 oz Crowler that was filled today poured into a (appropriately branded Idle Hands) Willi Beecher.
Pours a milky pale orange in color with two finger so fab long lasting white head. I love the aroma, it’s dank and herbal with a little mango and a passion fruit sweetness. Flavors are a little more restrained than the aroma. It has the same dank notes upfront but they are quickly overtaken by a generic tropical fruit flavor before a passion fruit sweetness in the finish. While this beer leans sweet it’s still well balanced. This is medium-light in body and moderately carbonated, very smooth. This is an example of a beer that is greater than the sum of its parts. I LOVE the aroma and the drinkability is off the charts; the fairly restrained 6.6% ABV is very well hidden. There is enough going on to keep me interested, engaged, and coming back for more. I typically go to Idle Hands to drink beautiful, well crafted lagers (especially in the taproom) but I have always admired their ability to simultaneously craft delicious IPAs and this is no exception. I will absolutely purchase this again.

I really don’t know what else you could hope for in a citra-heavy NEIPA. This is on par with any others in the area and cheaper as well. It’s definitely not the balanced beer that original 4 Seam is, but the double dose of citra is mouth wateringly delicious. I’m not a professional beer taster, so I’m not leaving a ton of notes, just have to say that this is one of my all time favorites

Consumed 3/7/19
A: Pale orange with some milky yellow tones - hazy, opaque - pours with a small off white head, fades to very little, retains a very small collar, leaves a few spots of lacing
S: Juicy, tropical, citrus heavy - fresh tangerine and orange juice, flesh - ruby red grapefruit, pulp - leafy green hops, hop pellets, resinous hops - floral citrus - touch of pine - tropical notes, pineapple, and mango - pale malts at the base, light sweetness
T: Rich tangerine, orange, and ruby red grapefruit flesh, juice - touches of lemon-lime - floral citrus - herbaceous, leafy hops - touch of pine - quite a range of fruit - peach, apricot, mango, pineapple, fruit punch - medium amount of bitterness to add some nice balance - pale malt base, touch of oats, low sweetness, very clean
M: Medium body, very smooth, carbonation on the low side
O: DoubleFourCitraSeam
I'm consistently impressed by Four Seam, and I've had a few of its variants. More Citra is generally a good thing, and Double Citra Four Seam is no exception. It's not as wonderfully balanced as Four Seam, as the citrus elements really dominate, but it's great in its own way. If this ever appears again, it's worth seeking out.
