12 oz. Can
Pours a pretty nice brown/amber color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice one-finger off-white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, slight spice. The taste is hoppy, malty, kinda spicy. Medium body. Overall, a nice little brew.

generally its pretty hard to get me excited about esb, and this one never really does. its real fresh though, new to cans, and tastes pretty solid, even hopped a little more than most. just an odd choice for bonfire, who just got done with an okay red ale and a mediocre dunkel lager before that. weird marketing decisions, i mean, people dont really buy those styles often. i dont certainly go out looking for them anyway, i wonder how they are doing with all of this? this beer is a collaboration with the eagle county chamber of commerce, a rather irrelevant team up effort from a beer standpoint, but i like that some money goes to a scholarship fund. this brew is a hoppy english malt brew with a light caramel color and a lot of bubbles for the style. grassy and bittering hops on the nose and on the finish, while slightly watered down sweet wort takes the front and the middle of both the aromatic and flavor experience. i like that its hoppier, but one can is plenty for me. the grains are sweet, a little toasted, but other than that, not real interesting. yeast is generic english type. a cool local brew, but i think their best successes came earlier in their canning journey. id like to see bonfire make some styles with a little broader appeal.

Pours a deep, burnt bronze with a slight off white head. Aroma offers a nice malty foundation with a big dose of some dough, and caramel, there is a strawberry like sweetness that shows itself throughout, and it closes with a a slight kick of some hops provided a little grassiness and herbiness. Flavor is sweet and quite doughy, caramel, brown sugar with a bit of an earthy and herbal bitter finish. A crisp, thinner, active mouthfeel. Overall, a solid esb. Not my favorite, but glad to have tried it.
