The Raspberry wheat is a crisp, refreshing beer with just a hint of raspberry flavor. The flavor is not tart but lightly sweet reminiscent of summer berries.

The raspberry is made with premium Canadian 2-row barley and wheat. Just enough imported Czech saaz hops are added to give a light floral note to compliment the raspberry flavor. This is an extremely drinkable, crisp, refreshing anytime beer.

A hazy straw colored brew, some lacing and curtains.

Smelling of sweet lemon, wheat dough and some raspberry.

Starting whit sweet white wheat bread, a very discrete raspberry presence, lemon juice and some grape-fruit peel.

Little carbonation, soft and smooth, refreshing with a medium body and a smooth dry finish.

Very cleverly balanced raspberry touch to this one.

Had to try, as i was curious WHY their only wheat was a "Raspberry Wheat"

Poured as expected, minimal haze with a red color. Weak head for a wheat. Smell. Kind of like old raspberry's! Taste... Ouch. Kind of nasty to be honest. Just doesnt work for me. A touch of clovey wheat with an odd tart berry, not really raspberry. Very underwhelming and not much to enjoy. Tastes like artificial rasberry flavoring to me...

Please, just brew a normal wheat beer.

Clear straw/yellow with a little head and served with a slice of lemon. Lemony nose and flavour, which I assume isn't from the beer itself. Also some raspberry in the nose and barely a hint of it in flavour. otherwise, a bit of grain and grassy hops. Soft body with some slickness and a low carbonation. Finishes dry with some wheaty twang. Easy drinking, but that's about it. Not really a lot of raspberry going on here.

Golden body with a small white head. Evidently filtered and similar in appearance to their kolsch. Not too much raspberry in the aroma, just a non-descript sweetness paired with a light graininess. Upfront the flavour has a light raspberry creamsicle touch, but its far from overpowering. The wheat flavour is a little indistinct, and I just find the whole thing very vague compared to all the other raspberry wheats in Canada. Fairly light bodied with decent carbonation. Drinkable, but there are better options at this bar.

At the brewpub. Their weakest offering, some faint raspberry essence taste. Opaque to yellow with lots of foam. Significant carbonation. Crisp and refreshing, though on the thinner side. Chick beer, and weak even comapred to other fruit beers as an example of what can be done.

The Clocktower is one of Ottawa's only brewpubs, and serves possibly the best beer in all of Ottawa. The Raspberry Wheat uses fermented raspberries in the fermentation process; quite possibly to perfection.

It has a slightly reddish hue to it, with the same body as a typical wheat, but smoother, almost a thickening as such. Very easy to drink and upon first smell, the raspberries are very present, but does not overpower neither the taste nor the smell. The ale is well balanced, and well conditioned. If planning on taking in a drink at the Clocktower, I would definitely recommend either the Raspberry Wheat or the Bytown Brown.
