Collaboration with Horus Aged Ales
In a collab with our friends at Horus Aged Ales, we mashed together the grain bill of our Ghost in the Machine with their Osprey’s Next Catch, thus marrying two beloved hazy IPAs from halfway across the country into one vicious bird. In the fermenter, we dosed Skelehawk with a torrential green rain of Cryo Mosaic + Strata hops, the fruit-forward flavors of these danker varieties coalescing in a golden-colored, complex cornucopia with a pillowy mouthfeel that gives hints of green melon, passionfruit, strawberry, tangerine, and papaya atop a solid citric foundation of lemons and oranges

Had Skelehawk poured from pint can, bottom stamped "MANIFESTED" (apparently canned) on "05/28/24," into nonic pint.
Pours hazy orange-gold, with 1- to 2-finger off-white head, with excellent retention, leaving a thick coating of Belgian lace down the glass. Aromas of hop resin and barley off pour, then aromas of mild, sweet citrus, a little backing pine, blueberry (a hint) and (a little) pineapple, and as warms aromas of melon, pine, funky floral and banana. On tasting, begins dryly (cracker) malty, yet with a thick, juicy NEIPA mouthfeel, delivering muted, sweet citrus and (as warms) berries, soon overwhelmed by a peppery, warming alcohol false finish, before the long melon, banana, citrus rind, and sticky, tropical finish.
Lots of ingredients went into this huge, certainly fruity but also piney and spicy mess of a(n almost) milkshake beer.

Resinous. Nicely bitter, nicely carbonated, not overly sweet, though it is juicy. Most hazy IPAs fall into the category of 'Not My Thing.' This one is good because it is NOT sweet. Will definitely be buying it again, if I can find it.

16oz can from Tavour. Hazy yellow golden pour, small, frothy white head. Citrusy aroma, floral, light dank notes. Taste leans towards the citrus, some soapy floral flavors, dank a mere shadow in the background. Dries out at the finish, lingering bitterness. Creamy

Hazy orange in color with a white head. Nose is slightly orange like. Taste was more piney than citrus. White pepper finish with a bit of bitterness but not too much.

Cloudy orange color, mild lacing. Citrusy notes of orange, melon, and tangerine. Taste follows the same, a bit of a tangy strawberry flavor as well. A bit creamy, medium bodied, subtle booze. Good.

A- pours A hazy golden orange with a one finger creamy white head that that has good retention
S- smells of pithy orange, zesty tangerine & leafy green hops. Undertones of garlic & green melon
T- Tropical notes of green melon and passion fruit, followed by tangerine. Mid-palate gives some garlicky notes, the finish gives passion fruit and tangerine
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns creamy into the finish

Prime example of the bullshit that this style has become.
There's nothing quality about this beer.
Its straw yellow and murky. Duh. The head is an attractive, vibrant white but the pillow-y appearance disappears quickly and is not indicative of mouth feel. I suspect additives as the lacing appears artificial and tastes fake.
Very underwhelming aroma considering how much they probably spent dry hopping this. Almost like the wheat or oats or whatever is in the malt bill is holding the hop aroma hostage. Disappointing.
Astringent hops with cloying and hefty sweetness. The hops oxidized quickly and noticeably. Zero hop complexity. Actually, the most complex part of this beer it's cardboard wrapped sloppiness.
The hop burn ruins everything pleasant about the mouthfeel.
For the price ($6.99 single in Colorado), this beer is fucking absurd. Canned on 5/28, so less than a month old. Perhaps this beer was transported warm and aged very quickly. Or perhaps "NEIPAs" are a joke. I'm starting to think the only reason people spend the $$ for beer like this is because it gets them drunk quick and hides the ABV well. I want my money back.

16 ounce can - $5.50 at Woodstock Beer Market in Woodstock, Georgia.
05/28/24.
Appearance: Pours a yellow-orange body with a milky cloudiness to it. Full-sized, fluffed, whitish head. Nice lacing.
Smell: Cushion of unmalted grains with a tone of sugar-sweetened oat creme. Tropical, fruity, berry-toned with veins of resiny, floral scents.
Taste: Subtle sweetness against a coarse, unmalted graininess though with a softening element akin to house-made oat creme. Tropical and citrusy with a nice acidity bringing flavors of tangerine, guava and papaya. Also, a generous sprinkling of blueberries. At the perimeter and moving into the finish are lightly dank resinous hints and a dash of rose water, adhering to some bitterness, a bit of alcoholic heat and a sustained rustic graininess.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-soft carbonation. Creamyish mouthfeel.
Overall: Pleasant flavor and aromatics, not too boozy and sufficiently smooth like a trip through a rock tumbler.

L: Murky orange with a wide finger of a orange cream head. Streaks of lace.
S: Grapefruit citrus, pineapple, booze.
T: Followed the nose with less distinct citrus and a mineral spirit quality that I personally never mind. Rich and substantial.
F: Medium heavy with a good bite of carbonation and bitterness.
O: Pretty good beer. A taste that is becoming more commonplace but the mouth feel sold me on this take.
