This velvet confection spent 16 months in a blend of Oregon Spirits and Heaven Hill bourbon barrels before conditioning on hundreds of pounds of roasted pecans, Madagascar vanilla, and a dusting of Korintje Cinnamon. Cinnamon glazed pecans flirt with boozy brown sugar spice, offering a delightful pastry stout experience reminiscent of sugar-stained paper cones overflowing with freshly roasted pecans.

750 ml bottle at share. Brown pour, flat. Sweet aroma, nutty, pecans, brown sugar. Taste is sugary so pecans, almost pecan pie filling flavors, hint of cinnamon .

Pours out dark brown with very little foam formation. Looks thick and syrupy on an aggressive pour. Big bubbles cling to the ring of the glass but that seems to be it.
Nose is a cornucopia of pleasant, welcoming scents. Moderate barrel presence, cinnamon, faint nuttiness, chocolate, roasted malt, a touch of fruit jam or paste.
Taste has similar flavors but the delicate balance isn't quite there in the same way. Barrel and malt come in right away. The barrel hits a high note and, on repeated pulls of this brew, starts to get soapy. The cinnamon comes in towards the beginning as well accompanied by the nuttiness. The pecan is subtle, which is probably a good thing, because a lot of these flavors are fighting each other for dominance.
Mouthfeel is fullbodied with very little carbonation. The alcohol on this is warming at first, then drying. It really let's you know. A bit abrasive.
Overall, a great sipper. But the more you drink, the more the imbalances start to teeter over. Share this with friends, and even perhaps, pour this into Glencairn glasses rather then beer glasses. It gets to be too much simply drinking by yourself.

Black body, tan ring. The smell is fantastic: vanilla, brown sugar, and cinnamon meld wonderfully with brighter pecan, bourbon, and chocolate malt. Taste has roasted pecan, bourbon, oak, and cinnamon up front, chocolate bridges, a finishing very sweet vanilla, caramel, and brown sugar dominates the finish. A little more roast would balance. Feel is very smooth and cool, again maybe more barrel would take to next level. As is it is a fun pastry stout, but the elements here are so good that potential is there for true greatness
