A dark farmhouse ale served on tap into a snifter.
A- Poured a dark reddish brown color with soapy off-white head that left splashy lace.
S- Mostly dark cherry and some dark fruit notes like plum and raisin. Not a very strong aroma though.
T- Lots of dark cherry and dark fruit notes like plum or raisin, some juicy citrusy fruit notes, banana, and clove notes.
M- Slight alcohol warming, medium body, not very dry, and pretty smooth with high drinkability.
O- A very nice take on a dark and sessionable saison. I really enjoy golden or lighter colored belgian ales, but usually a lot of the dark belgians are not among my favorites. This beer straddles the line between many of the golden belgian ales I enjoy with some of the dark fruit characters associated with their darker counterparts.
