Myrtle has a pleasant acidity from a Lactobacillus fermentation. Lemony Meridian hops grown in Silverton, OR enhance the citrus character of our house Lactobacillus strains and the fruity ester profile of our house farmhouse yeast.

Draft at the brewery. Yellow/ orange body, faint ring of head. Savoryy, floral aroma, sage, rosemary., Some citrus. Taste is light and tart, tangerines and hibiscus. Not a fan of the style, but this is exceptional.

a Fine and Acceptable Saison , totally anonymous, nothing interesting at all about this, nothing offensive. There are so many boring beers at the Commons they all kind of blend together.

it is absolutely shocking to me how underrated this is! definitely my favorite beer from our visit to the commons, and unlike anything else i have ever had, and i have certainly had a lot of beer at this point. it has a slightly rust colored honey color to it, hazy, and holding well over an inch of belgian looking head on top, enthusiastic to say the least. it smells like dried apricots you buy in bulk at whole foods. i swear there has to be apricot in here, but i am informed there isnt. i cant believe how true that aroma (and indeed flavor) are in this one. some nice herbaceous and citrusy hops follow that, with a seemingly wheat derived grain base that has plenty of body. this is the only beer we had here that was sour really at all, lots of funk in the house, but this was maybe the only lacto beer they had working when we were there. its not overly sour though, a nice tangy clean tartness is there, mostly in the finish, pulling full on lemon notes out of the hops, and with the apricot i pick up its a unique fruit cocktail. complex and awesome, there is a saison strain in here too, giving it that best of both worlds aspect. every beer these guys make that i have had, i have loved, but this could be my favorite of them all! really tremendous brew.
