Inspired by the saisons of yesteryear, our unfiltered Spring Batch embodies the season of rebirth. Appearance: 4 - Looks kind of like cloudy, dehydrated piss, but hey, I don't really care about that.

Smell: 4.75 - It has that wonderful floral, citrusy smell that comes with these farmhouse ales that I love so much.

Taste: 3.75 - I get a nice lemon flavor up front; a little tart. A tad bit of bitterness towards the end. I actually can taste just a smidge of the alcohol on this, even though it's only like, 6%. Super refreshing though!

Feel: 3.75 - Medium body, quite nice.

Overall: 4 - Overall this is a B beer. It isn't quite as awesome as the Prairie stuff I had, but a refreshing farmhouse ale nonetheless.

Just poured from bottle for 2014. Very good head with a clear honey appearance. I'm typically not a huge Saison fan but this does well in the midst of January wondering when spring will arrive.

Appearance - Great pour with ample head. Golden honey color with minimal hazy tint.

Aroma - Not strong but a different floral smell with a yeast background. Lemon along with a hint of coriander (just a bit odd with the latter).

Taste - I probably would have had more of an appreciation if I enjoyed this Saison in April/May but nevertheless, it did provide a zesty aftertaste that was not overwhelming and lingered for less than 10 seconds

Mouthfeel - Mild body flavor with a fruity and floral combo.

Pours a clear, golden color. 3/2 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of slight lemon, slight wheat, sweet malt, slight pale malt, hops, hint of grass, and a hint of spice. Fits the style of a Saison / Farmhouse Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, pale malt, slight hops, slight spice, hint of grass, hint of earthy malt, and slight citrus. Overall, good appearance and aroma, but the body is overly malty for my taste.

A- Pours a bright gold with slight haze. Soft, 2 finger pillowy white head that leaves a nice ring around the edge.

S- Barnyard musk, lemon zest, grassy notes, and orange peel. Decent, but doesn't really pop all that much.

T- Follows nose well. Good balance of yeast to accompany the hop kick.

M- Light body, spot on carbonation. Fairly clean and great drinkability as a spring beer.

O- A well done saison that drinks really well and is a very solid value. At 5.6, it makes for a near sessional ale that carries flavor well at that abv. I nice saison intro as it comes through like a lighter version of Tank7

Pours an effervescent bronze with 3 fingers of ivory colored head. Good lacing & alright head retention

S: Pears, apple blossoms & skins, plus a tiny bit of barnyard

T: Pears, white grapes& a touch of dirt up front. Some perfumy notes as this warms, more pear, plus dryness, a touch of lemon zest & honey. Finishes crisp with pear fruittyness & dryness

MF: Lively carbonation with light, slick body

Very drinkable, but not very complex. This is a very mild intro to saisons

A- Pours almost the same color as honey. It'd be hard to tell them apart if their werent so many timy bubbles. It also had about 1 finger of a fluffy white head with very good retention. Nice looking beer

S - Tangy Citrus and loads of malts smells. Very yeast/earthy smelling on the end

T - Very spicy. Cloves, yeast. It also has a tangy, lemony citrus finish. Lots going on in this beer.

M - Medium bodied beer with loads of bubbles. It feels slightly creamy in the mouth but has a very smoot finish. Slightly dry beer

O - Very intersting beer with lots going on with the citrus, malts, and yeast flavors. Tasted fairly well balanced. I better have one more just to make sure I like it!

Poured out of a 12 oz brown bottle into a tulip glass. No discernible bottled by or consume by date.

Appearance - Pours a golden amber with haziness clouding the body as it settles. Some bits of goldenrod as well. Head starts out foamy, a finger and a half of thickness that is down to about a half finger after a couple minutes, and then just a thin line of foam after a couple more.

Smell - The aroma is dominated by that distinctive Belgian yeast character, with some floral undertones and subtle funk in the background

Taste - Notes of coriander and lemon with a bready, sourdough backbone. Less pronounced than the smell, and seems to fade pretty quickly in spite of the medium body.

Mouthfeel - Pleasant and well-carbonated, with some silkiness and lingering sense of the yeasty characteristics.

Overall a nice, drinkable farmhouse that could easily be a session ale, albeit a bit on the high side in terms of ABV. I wish the flavor was a bit more forward, but it's nice to find a less intense farmhouse on the market with the tendency for the style to get into the 7% and up range.
