It's a "Berliner Weiss" with the addition of raspberries (in the style of Catharina Sour) and basil.
The nose immediately intense notes of red fruit and fresh basil, widely recognizable.
As soon as it is poured it is rosy, with light coppery reflections and an evanescent foam like that of a Prosecco.
The taste is fresh and tasty: the entrance is characterized by the taste of berries, which is followed by a very fast and intense lactic note that pricks the tongue, before leaving room for a finish in which a pleasant taste of basil and raspberry, while the taste of wheat appears on the tongue, again in a very recognizable way.
fresh, in which all the elements are recognizable and in perfect balance with each other.
Obviously, it has little of Berliner Weiss intended in the original sense, but it is a splendid modern reinterpretation in a Catharina Sour key.

Brewfist "False Flat"
33cl brown glass bottle coded "30.04.20 L180411"
6€ @ my.ale, Roma, IT on 27.06.18

Notes: 4.0% ABV. Berliner Weisse flavored with raspberry and Basil. Hazy pinkish body with an orange cast beneath a short head of white that drops readily - to be expected of a sour beer. The aroma is tangy, fruity, and mineralish, with a clear note of basil as well. The flavor follows. It's very refined. I'd expected it to be more bombastic but it's delicate and really nicely rounded. It's only lightly tart, and lightly mineralish. It's not bitter at all but the finish is dry due to the limited acidity and lack of residual sugars in a beer of just 4%. Medium-light in body and gently crisp in the mouth. Interesting and refreshing!
