Poured from fridge temp into a snifter. Pours thick and viscous - super black. Laces the glass like no other. Dark brown head that quickly dissipates. It's almost a reddish brown. Nose is insane. Bourbon, black licorice, coffee grounds, dark chocolate and dark fruit. Taste is vibrant - super thick black licorice, bourbon, toffee, vanilla, bitter chocolate, roasty/smoke notes, and a touch of alcohol heat. Mouthfeel is super thick and creamy. Overall, one of the best bourbon barrel-aged stouts that I have tried. This is extreme, so be ready.

It poured a very thick and highly viscous pitch black beer. Looked sticky and had an appearance of a ribbon strand while pouring. The aromas were heavy with chocolate, booze, and vanilla but then at room temp, the heavy bourbon just takes over, inviting you to savor this beer. The taste is very heavy in the bourbon with notes of rich dark chocolate and soy sauce. Flavors taste ultra concentrated - like taking a 22 oz imperial stout and boiling it down to this 12 oz bottle. The mouthfeel is ultra thick and full-bodied. Some warmth of the bourbon but not too alcoholic like a Black Tuesday. Overall this is superb beer, Anchorage really killed it with this barrel-aging. Impressive stuff.

This one pours a super thick and motor-oily looking dark, dark black, with a very small dark brown head, and no lacing.

This smells crazy good- with dark, charred, and roasted malt, toasted oak, rich bourbon, cookie dough, bitter dark chocolate, espresso, molasses, brown sugar, and vanilla. This smells incredible.

This also tastes incredible. The bottle states 15%- which is just absurd, as it's not boozy really at all. It's sweet, but not overly so, as there's a heavy oak character, lots of roasty goodness, and some light tobacco and smoke. There's bittersweet dark fancy chocolate flavor, some vanilla, and a bit of sweet dark molasses/maple/brown sugar type flavors. This is just so rich and flavorful without any adjuncts.

This is thick, chewy and beefy, with a lower level of carbonation, and a nice silky feel to it. It's definitely a slow sipper due to how "big" it is.

Anchorage hit a massive home run with this beer. This is incredible.
