*Poured into a Teku glass from a 16oz can*

Appeared a light pastel yellow, had about a half-finger thick white head and low retention. A lacing was left after the head subsided.

The aroma, as expected was super tropical. The combination of passion fruits and Motueka hops really gave me a nice combination of tropical and citrus fruit aromas. You definitely get some nice passion fruit aromas upfront, as well as notes of mangoes, pineapples, oranges, and cantaloupe. There was also a hint of dank pine in the back-end, but it was easily overshadowed by the fruitiness upfront.

Unfortunately, I thought this smelled much better than it tasted. While the fruitiness from the passion fruit and the tropical characters from the hops really shined through in the aroma, the taste didn't really reflect that. Instead, I got some tartness from the passion fruit upfront which then faded extremely quickly into notes of under ripe passion fruit making the middle and finish a bit dull and watery. No bitter taste in this what-so-ever.

I thought the feel on this was full-bodied and had a moderate amount of carbonation; very smooth to drink. Also, this didn't really have an aftertaste to it and the beer just finishes flat.

I really love passion fruit, so I was really excited to try out this beer. Unfortunately, I found that the flavors were kind of dull and fell flat, leaving me disappointed. However, the aroma on this was phenomenal, but the taste just wasn't there.

Super hazy yellow with a certain turbid nature to it, finger of white foam. Smells is full of passionfruit and the grainy spelt, with hops bringing mild bitters, melon, guava, and lemon. Taste has the sweet juice of the passionfruit contrasting with the hearty spelt, the best aspect of the beer, but the back end with the dry hops is very light and really doesn't have much but melon rind and lemon, dull finish. Feel is very smooth, thick for style, juicy, yet refreshing, but needs more hops shaping. More interesting than good

16oz can served in a big snifter. Dated 05-15-2020. Gift from @mr-jj.

Pours super hazy, whitish-yellow, smallish head that only fades about halfway to leave wisps of head and a ring of dense creamy foam. Smell is tropical juice. Rich. Resinous.

Taste is juice. Moderately fruit-tart. Very little bitterness.

Mouthfeel is moderately thick, fairly still. Overall..it's definitely not terrible, but it's definitely not exciting.

16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 5/15/20, so a month old.

Looks pretty good. Standard NE ipa orange juice body. Small white head dissipates to a ring, leaves only a little lacing.

Dull fruit aroma with a bit of a spirits hit.

On tasting, kind of strange for a NE/dipa. No bitterness at all, warm from the abv, a little tart from the passion fruit. At the end even a bit of a watery wash. Not unpleasant at all, just weird.

Mouth around medium, finish a touch tart.

Overall, while I enjoyed the drink, hard to think of it as an ipa.

Poured from 16oz tall can into my BeerAdvocate teku. Canned 5/15/20.

Appearance: yellow hue with an extremely thick, turbid haze. Head is a finger of frothy ivory foam. This beer looks like it means business.

Smell: sweet and floral with some light tropical-fruit aromas of papaya and guava. The sweetness creates almost a candylike aroma; it's not at all what I would have guessed based on the look. I happen to really like it.

Taste: very sweet, with lots of floral character up front and a fair dose of almost-tart tropical fruitiness in the middle. There's almost no bitterness here, or whatever bitterness there is gets well overshadowed by the sweetness. This beer is definitely in a different mold than a lot of DIPAs I've had. Good.

Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a decent carbonation and good creaminess.

Overall: this beer is kind of an odd duck. I appreciate its novelty, and there's a lot (especially the aroma) that I like about it, but I don't see going out of my way to get this again. That said -- it is a good beer worthy of trying.
