Strong fruit flavors, mildly sour. A lot of blueberry flavor, but almost strikes me as grape juice. Mildly sweet. Interesting in the contrast of fruit, sweetness, and sourness. Tasty.

one of the most intensely colored beers ive ever had, like an exploded magic marker, hyper saturated midnight purple with some density and a violet head thats positively striking in the glass from this artsy little cork and cage bottle. the nose here is very sour, approaching acetic, less funky than i have known in many of their others in this space, light vinegar, some heavy oak and berry tannins, deep red wine quality to it, over the top blueberry, very little vanilla but its natural, wild looking and smelling beer, holy cow. the flavor is intense too, predictably blueberry forward, natural but super concentrated, i cant imagine how much fruit must have gone into this. the ferment as interesting as i was hoping for or as i have come to expect from anchorage, but its not all acid either, despite that being way out in front and pretty bracing. there is some back end funk locked in with the oak that i get more and more of as i let this sit. berries to the dome, jammy and concentrated, vanilla only on the swallow and not enough to make this desserty or anything, but it highlights the dead center of the berries in a really neat way, makes this slightly richer, and seems to offset some of the increasingly brutal acid. this is massively flavored beer, to the extent grain and hops arent even really part of the equation, but its of high quality and astoundingly unique. maybe not my favorite in their lineup, but another offering i cant help but shake my head at in amazement, somehow really dry with all this fruit too. anchorage kills it, get hip to that if you arent already! my guess is this is incorrectly listed as a kettle sour...
