This is a pretty unique blend of fruits in this one. It seems like a no brainer combination so I’m surprised this is the first time I’m seeing it. Let’s pop it open and find out what it has to offer
Pours a cloudy yellow gold with a finger of soapy white head that quickly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is super vibrant and tart, very fruit forward with a slight funk. I’m picking up on aromas of passion fruit, lemon juice, earthy guava, jammy apricot, stone, wet hay, white pepper, mango skin, and tannic white wine
Oh man, it has even more punch in taste which really elevates it. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting passion fruit, lemon iuice, tangerine, mango skin, stone, wet hay, old leather, dried apricot, and light crackery malt. The swallow brings notes of passion fruit, lemon juice, jammy apricot, earthy wheat, bready malt, atone, wildflower honey, and mango skin
A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a sharp beer. Finishes a tad sticky but dries out over time
This is a fun one. Sharp and fruity but with a decent complexity

poured from a 375mL bottle into a perennial wine glass. pours a foggy orange with a crackling and fizzling white foam head that settles into a thin collar around the rim of the glass. funky but juicy apricot on the nose as well as some musty oak and and even a hint of white wine. as it warms i get more passionfruit but the apricots seem to dominate. not complaining as i love apricots in sour beer. taste is not quite as juicy as the nose. it’s very funky with a dry finish and some moderate acidity. medium-full mouthfeel with a dry finish. haven’t had too many sours from anchorage but this is quite good. more funky than sour with a nice drinkability to it. fruit forward but the base beer seems well made. i liked it.

ive not had too many sours from these guys, or at least things they just straight up call sour, and this definitely has a different, younger, more bacterial profile than i am used to in their stuff, but this is clean and good for what it is, light to drink, not too acidic, and not sweet from heavy fruit additions, apricots and passion fruit in this case, a neat combination, not overdone, natural for sure, and to me this is summery and bright even though the snow is falling and i almost wiped out in the parking lot on the way in. a little orange glow to it and off clear but still light looking, some head on it but not remarkably active to me. the nose and taste run together, fuzzy soft ripe pulpy apricot with sharp lemon tang and then some sympathetic passion fruit, which to me ends up the more robust of the two fruits, but its close, and the yeast highlights one, and sort of hits samey with the other. this has white wine notes to me, but seems less woody, or rather not woody at all, maybe this is all in stainless. the grain is way light, pils maybe and a little wheat, but its light bodied, light flavored, and even overly minimal to me, especially in texture, the acid could handle a little more malt. i think i expected this to be a little more intense and robust overall, but also im really digging it. the fruits go together great, the lightness is appealing, and its not as sour as it first starts off like its going to be, so its drinkable as these go. fun stuff, different from anchorage. into it. is this a kettle sour? it lacks the wild complexity of many of their beers, simpler, not a bad thing...
