Drank from a 12.7 fl. oz. / 375ml black wax dipped bottle purchased on Tavour
Served in a tulip

The beer poured an insanely thick and viscous, total pitch black and was reminiscent of used motor oil. A small, finely beaded, caramel colored cap of froth rose above the body, but it quickly dissolved. There was no remaining head whatsoever nor any lacing. As the liquid was swirled, drippy legs trickled down the sides of the glass. By the drink’s end, the remaining beer left a thick, sticky film along the vessel.

The aroma was just as interesting and as intense as I anticipated. Uber rich and boozy with big roasted malt, brown sugar and dark fruit notes. Dark chocolate fudge also came through strong. Fairly sweet but also a touch savory. Freshly emptied bourbon barrel notes were quite apparent. Loads of port character too. Raisin and dried fig came to mind. There was a big, fragrant, fresh Madagascar vanilla bean presence as well. The vanilla intensified as the beer warmed. Later, toasted coconut notes appeared too.

The flavor profile was just as intense and complex as the nose. Roasted malt notes hit hard up front. Loads of boozy, bourbon barrel and port wine notes. Super oaky and moderately sweet. Nice burnt caramel and brown sugar sweetness. Touch of dark chocolate. Punchy, sweet and savory, raisin and fig notes were also apparent. Hint of vanilla. More deeply roasted malt character on the back end and in the finish. Dry, oaky, boozy bourbon barrel notes lingered after the swallow.

As impressive as the appearance, aroma and flavor profile were, the mouthfeel was perhaps the true star of the show. It was insanely rich, dense and full bodied and truly pushed the limits of what a beer can be. The liquid contained a super fine, moderate, tongue blanketing effervescence that frothed up like heavy whipping cream.

We’re All Replaceable was one of the most intense, complex and barrel-forward beers I have ever had the pleasure of drinking. Although I have found some Anchorage barrel-series beers to be somewhat disappointing relative to their description and price point, this one was exceptional in every regard.

Pitch black body with a short lived beige cap, some dotted lazy lacing from the viscous body. Smell has great barrels with rugged woods and bourbon backing toasted caramel, chocolate fudge, molasses, and moderate supporting char, all meeting the vanilla gushing from coconut. Taste adds some brown sugar and deeper barrel character, wow. Feel is stupid smooth, thick, heavy and chewy with great barrel textures and warmth. Anchorage brought their A-game here, right there with Blessed

Pour deep, dark brown. Aroma is intoxicating without a sip. Wonderful balance of chocolate, bourbon and vanilla with whiffs of coconut. Taste follows nose with the intensity notched up. There's the chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, more obvious coconut and some caramel. Doesn’t taste likev18.9%. Mouthfeel is full though just barely. Love this collab with Horus.

poured from a black-waxed 375mL bottle into a SP BBT22 snifter. pours dark, dark brown with see-through edges but gathers in the glass a thick, oily black with a thin mocha brown foam cap that quickly fizzes away. bourbon, chocolate, vanilla and more bourbon the nose. as it warms i get a little coconut but man is this thing a boozy beast. beneath the barrel and booze i do get hints of the burnt caramel and waffle cone aromas of blessed. taste follows with bourbon, oak, rich chocolate and vanilla and more pronounced coconut than on the nose. the finish is just an onslaught of bourbon, which keeps this from being overly sweet. quite an accomplishment i must admit given 3 different types of vanilla beans plus raw and toasted coconut. full mouthfeel, although probably not as thick as anchorage stouts can get. could be the horus component but still beyond decent. this thing is a monster. a true sipper. best right at room temp. gives you elements of dessert flavors at port wine strength.
