August 28th, 2015 - I love Meyer Lemons! And goses! A salty, citrusy dream come true! This blonde brew conjures up a saline note for the nose, and placed neatly on top of that is the Meyer lemon I was so sincerely promised. It's a sweet smell more than it is better, and also gives off touches of macerated peaches. Tangy and clear, the flavor is refreshing and gives a nice salty smack at the end. The essence of Meyer lemon is evident too, but disappears quickly in the aftertaste. This is more than apt as a beer for a day at or near the beach.

i think its neat these guys are playing around with the gose a little bit, and its even cooler they are on tap around town, this one at hops and pie, but its not that good of a basic gose i dont think, too light in the tart department, and so these flavors make it even less like a gose than it is as a base beer. that said, its refreshing and the meyer lemon flavor is nice, part orange part lemon it seems, true to the fruit, and with the citrus helping add acidity where it was missing in the ginger one. still, even though the flavor is light, i feel like any salt and coriander and phased out as a result of the introduction of these flavors. its good beer, easy drinking and unique, but as a gose, i dont think it really passes muster. hard to judge beer to style though for me, and i find this a fine compliment to the filling and sometimes greasy italian sandwich at hops and pie, and i cans see this in a variety of other culinary contexts as well, especially indian food. not my favorite gose, but i will keep trying the different variations.
