Pours a deep black with no light thru when held against a flashlight. One finger of khaki foam. Aroma is roasty and toasty malts right out front, forming a firm structure for rye spice, barrel, deep chocolate, and dark cherry. At times, it smells like a Cherry Mash candy mashed into rye whiskey - but not as boozy or sweet as that would make it seem. Flavor profile is roasty and toasty malts again, with barrel and rye spice showing up quick. Some dark cherry again, this time alongside toffee. It's splendidly smooth. Mouth feel is thick with a filling, semi-creamy texture. Overall, a dense stout with lovely rye whiskey accents.
