A: Pours a clear golden orange with a thin, lingering white head.
S: Aromas typical of spicy Ardennes yeast-green apple, baking spices, and pears-fill the nose.
T: Notes of spiced pear, funky yeast, green apple, biscuits, caramel, crackers, and mild, grassy hops wash across the palate. The finish is clipped and gentle with a pronounced yeasty spice backed by notes of caramel.
M: Light in body and relatively dry. Carbonation is crisp.
O: This is a very solidly constructed Belgian-style table beer. At first I was a little confounded by the overtly Wallonian yeast character in a beer with a Flemish name, but I have to admit that it works. Very nicely done.
