From their description, "brewed with 100lbs of fresh roasted pumpkins, a touch of pumpkin pie spices and fermented with our house saison yeast for a dry, funky finish".
Pours a very dark orange almost copper color with a two finger frothy white head with great retention, slowly fading into a lasting cap. Glass coated with chunky lacing.
Earthy, spicy aroma that isn't sweet or artificial at all. Honestly I was expecting something much different in the nose. Lots of earthy, vegetal, organic pumpkin with autumnal spices and earthy saison yeast.
Full bodied with a strong spice presnce up front that lingers over the sweet pumpkin and earthy saison yeast into a spicy, dry finish. Again nowhere near as sweet as anticipated with lots of cinnamon, brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice. This is coutered by subtle sweet pumpkin. Lots of pumpkin flavor but not in an artificial way. Slight vegetal presence complimented by subtle saison funkiness that lingers into a dry finish. Very different interpretation of the style.
