Pours a hazy dark gold with a thin white cap that disappears quickly. After a minute it is a bare cap and very thin ring.

Nice lactic tart mixes with lemon limey and hormonal funk to frame some righteous hoppy citrus notes and bright orange zest.

Not quite puckering tart but close to it combines with all the flavors of the aroma to make a full flavored assault on the palate. Not as funky as promised in the nose, what it has is some decent, if underperforming, earth and barnyard notes that leave it unbalanced in favor of the tart, and the tart outshines the fruit notes in the same way. Sip ends lemon, orange hints, and tart.

Average in all ways for a wild ale, carbonation, viscosity, body, finish that helps make this beer better than it might be with too much carb or not enough body.

Decent beer, not gonna recommend it mainly for the price versus how good it is. Real CS fanboys might like this better than I do, but the house bugs and fruit don't do it this time for me.

Bottle: Poured a clear yellow color ale with a medium size foamy head with limited retention and light lacing. Aroma of sour notes with subtle clementine notes and some light funky ester also discernible. Taste is a mix of sour notes with no acidity, some light clementine notes with light funky Brett notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad but I was expecting more clementine notes.

12.7 oz bottle (dated Ooctober 2015, Clementine version). Pours hazy dark gold with a medium creamy white head that goes to a thin film that laces the glass.

The aroma is ctirus fruit with some funky brett and lactic sourness.

The flavor is sweet oranges with an earthy funkiness and a sour twang at the end. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, a nice sour. I like the citrus.

As the wild yeast run amuck through the Crooked Stave brewery, its earthen, peppery, musty tone is set. In its path lies the St. Bretta brands that not only allow the wild yeast to ferment, it embraces it! Fueled with clementines, the beer's balance shifts citrusy, sharp and bracingly tart.

Bright golden while carrying a faint haze, the beer's arid lather builds and billows over with aromas of light and tangy fruit of citrus, orchard and tropical fare. Musty, vinous and a scent of the sea rounds out the nose while the taste is delicate, light and dryly of pilsneresque malt, wafer and faint honey.

As the malt sweetness fades, the taste is all about the yeast fruit and spicy balance and the generous clementine additions. Lemon, lime, crabapple and white grape start the show while the radiant taste of grapefruit and juicy oranges shift the balance to the succulence of citrus. A dry and peppery taste follows with sharp white wine, white pepper, cumin and clove offering balance to the fruit and tempering the short malt breadiness that's holding on.

Light, dry and creamy, the beer's texture is exuberant with expressive carbonation that brings greater life to the peppery finish and the soft mineral brine to close the session. An after-palate of musty cork, balsa and cellar-like funk is more retro-olfactory focused but trails the sourness in a brief and refreshing finish.

375 ml bottle, bottled October 2015, 5.8% ABV printed on the back label. Served in a Prairie Teku, the beer pours a hazy straw gold color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like citrus (clementines, oranges), wheat/grainy malt, funk, citrus peel and some earthiness. For the most part the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some lime, sweet spiciness and white grapes noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's creamy and a bit coating with a good amount of carbonation. I thought this was good, I'd like to pick up another bottle of this sometime. It's nice and refreshing with a nice tartness to it, it's a good citrusy fruity and tart brew. I'd buy this again!

Bottle from a trade.
Hazy light yellow with a huge bubbly white head that dissipates very quickly. Lemons and oranges, earth and funk with light spice.

Pours a murky soft gold in color with a loose knitted standard white head. A moderate amount of lacing is present on the glass.

Fruit aromas with orange and lemon rounding out the nose, with an underlying mustiness and funk.

The taste starts off with an almost lip quivering like lemon/lime tartness that quickly fades into a nice orange and green grape flavors for the mid palate that lingers into the finish and is accompanied by the previously mentioned mustiness.

Dry and creamy. Light carbonation.

Very well balanced.

An aged bottle from October 2015. Pours a cloudy/hazy yellow golden color with fizzy white head. Clementines, tartness, funk, other citrus fruits, and some wheat on the nose; follows onto the palate. Light bodied. Finishes with a nice tartness balanced out by the clementine fruitiness.

T - Orange is too faint. 3.75

MF - Easy drinking almost a bit creamy. 4
