very cool that these guys are playing around with some beer that isnt wild. this is the second one, an english ipa, or so they say, but this didnt taste like english hops or ale yeast to me, and i even missed an english grain note in this one, at least in terms of being true to some of the originals, there isnt any copper or caramel malts in here, still pale and soupy looking like the american style they did. better head though, and not quite as dense. it smells grassy but still juicy too on the hops, like a tamer but similar version of the first one they made. i guess there is more of a liquid bread grain character to this one than there was in the original, but it still might only be english in nature in that its somewhat more balanced and malty, but this seems more like american ingredients than english ones, at least to me. the beer is very good though, a real fresh and ripe hop profile with decent bitterness too. i dont think this is as impressive as the first one they did, but i like it quite a lot, and hope they keep experimenting with this stuff. i would have liked this to be a little more obviously english, but its very drinkable and tasty.
