there must be some overabundance of blueberries in house at crooked stave, they seem to be making their way into just about everything they brew now, including this delicious new one, a collaboration from what i understand, done with yarrow and heather as well, and this does present itself as quite herbal, earthy, and botanical. its less wild than some others, with a cleaner sour profile and enough blueberry that tht the other unique ingredients in it do not seem particularly prominent. it has a nice lavender purple color from the fruit and a neat starchiness about it, seemingly fuller bodied and more deep than some of the others, the petite sours and the l'bretts of the world. a little bit sweet too, less dry than others, but with a cool tartness that brings out another side of the fruit at the same time. i would like for more of the heather and yarrow to be on display, they sort of fly under the radar a bit here. subtle funk and tangy blueberry sins to finish with a light floral aspect, heave for a summer release in some ways, tons of fruit, very good overall, but the blueberry thing is running its course pretty quick over there right now. there is this one, origins, nightmare, surette, and a petite sour all on at the same time with the blueberries...
