Had this during Trip 1 to Denver in 2019. I think this was on tap at that quiet hotel tap room.

Poured purple and pretty. Settles into a light pink, more white head about 1/5". The aroma is of berries, lots of purple berries moreso than grapes. Temperanillo is pretty much the most neutral red grape aroma wise, so I guess the story kind of checks out. Very much comes across similar to red wine with a hint of feet because you know, blackberries do that with my nose frequently.

Taste is savory, enjoyable, you really quaff up on this like its a pricey bottle of wine, but no, its a pricey ass beer with many red wine qualities. The beer doesn't hit you over the head with intense sourness or acidity, so that is quite nice. Real drying effect on the back end. Complexities keep pushing in the second half of the pour, plum, tobacco join the blackberry and red grape party in smaller ways.

These Crooked Stave beer/wine hybrids definitely give Bruery and Firestone Walker a run for their money, although these are generally a little bit more expensive.
