Poured from a small bottle at fridge temp. Pours a thick syrupy black with insanely dark head. Very dark brown! The nose is dominated by maple and intense bourbon barrel. Toffee, vanilla, chocolate, dark fruit, molasses, black licorice, and a bit of tobacco. Roasted malts. This is so intense and strong on the nose, I can only imagine how intense the taste is.

The taste is crazy. Huge mixture of maple syrup and bourbon. What a combo. The maple syrup doesn't dominate, but compliments. Both intense. Chocolate, raspberries, vanilla, a bit of coffee, tobacco, roasted malts, a bit of black licorice. Very strong sweetness, and the boozy note is strong. Really good!

Mouthfeel is crazy thick and creamy - might be one of the thickest in a long time. Overall, a fantastic maple stout.

Deep black body; thin yet persistent light brown head (better than many high ABV beers), creamy. Cocoa and coffee smell with a low degree presence of alcohol and old oak. Sweet and boozy taste; notes of maple syrup, milk chocolate, cocoa. Heavy body; rich, chewy, sludgy; huge residual sugar presence; strong alcohol warmth knives through the sweetness; sticky and lip smacking.

An incredibly dense and chewy imperial stout. This is a beer you could almost cut with a knife! This collaborative effort is a real brute yet all so good. It appears they took an awesome base imperial stout with no other additives or adjuncts and aged it for almost five years in maple syrup / bourbon barrels. I love its simple premise yet beastly drinking demeanor. The melding of the beer with barrel highlights the art of the brewers craft with creative barrel aging.

Poured out at 70 °F; one of 936 bottles produced.

Pours thick black with a dark tan head that dissipates quickly.

The nose is maple, vanilla, chocolate, bourbon, and savory depth. Leans woody and savory on the initial pour then settles into sweeter notes of vanilla icing. Hints of boozy heat.

The taste follows. Vanilla, maple, chocolate, cherry, and bourbon. Medium sweetness. Waves of flavor.

The mouthfeel is full. The highlight of the beer. Thick but not excessive.

Overall, excellent. This is rating #600 for me and a worthy choice for the "occasion." This got better the more I drank it. Full and luxurious.
