Poured from a freshness dated 16 oz. can (date on can indicates this is a little past its prime): poured a beautiful, sunset hue with a sustained and foamy white head.
The aroma was rather spicy and perfumy with some bready notes.
This one has a somewhat chewy mouthfeel with hints of rye and raisin flavors. It seems to have a rather distinct flavor profile for the style, though I have not had many Vienna lagers. There is a surprisingly strong hop presence for this lager style, but the brewer may have been interested in an "American" style Vienna Lager. A nice level of carbonation keeps this one refreshing. Definitely a nice-looking pour. I'm not sure how the age (about 5 months) may have affected this one.

Medium amber colored body; thick and frothy head, white and creamy. Light toasted grain smell with a touch of caramel; esters. Mild flavors mirroring the smell; a bit more toastiness; honey. Medium body; a bit weak and coarse on the palate; moderate overall sweetness to the mouthfeel.
A decent if unremarkable Vienna lager.

L - Golden amber waves of Vienna-like magic; good head, great lacing, some nice hop oil action on top of this as it went down. Complete surprise.
S - Fantastic brown bread meets pumpernickel honey fight in the streets, then taken to a clean barrel. Malt grain on the nose is just fabulous, almost ethereal.
T - Great; a slightly attenuated mouth and taste than from the aroma impressions, but still carries the dark break, honey, solid malt, deep lager note that is just... so satisfying. MORE beer like this, Crooked Stave! THis is what you're good at; well, this and Sours, and wilds, and Bretts of course.
F - Satisfying, light, wondrous on the mouth. Tastes like something for 4.8% - and that's an accomplishment.
O - One of the more interesting Vienna Lagers I've had, and especially for the weight - this is up there with Dovetail.
Canned 1.5.21 (?) and opened, enjoyed THIS can 3.28.21 after 2 cans yesterday; just to make sure I was not hallucinating. Fabulous - take my marks, Mozart would drink this all day long.
