Consumed on 10/6/23 (review based on notes).
A&S: no head, no carbonation, jet black. The aroma was a real stand-out for this beer, port wine. figs, raisins, caramel, maple, raspberry! Wow!
T&M: The taste is very heavy in chewing tobacco. Other flavors included raisins and port wine. Midtaste has some dark chocolate. The mouthfeel contained very little carbonation (probably due to the extended aging and high ABV). The beer is on the lighter side of medium and fills out as it warms.
Overall: 56 months in barrels, that is crazy. It is a very, very interesting beer, I would recommend checking it out.

This is pretty spectacular and about as good as I can think a true, balanced blend of stout, barrel, and sour could turn out. Gorgeous liquid with deep, dark head, black body, and beautiful mahogany edges. Incredible blend of barrel, dark fruits, baker’s chocolate, red wine tannins, and a little bright funk. Taste follows with the tart berries and sour twang taking the lead, with dark chocolate playing second fiddle. Much more sour-leaning on the tongue than nose. Liquid is actually a little thin but wonderfully coating. Exceptional beer.
