Pours a dirty amber color; semi-cloudy and opaque in the glass; bare wisp of suds circling the inside of the glass. Sweet, sugary nose; candied apricots. rum. Heavy sweetness to the taste; candi sugar; dried apricots; rum and whiskey. Heavy body; thick and sticky.
A decent enough barrel aged barleywine but a bit too much overall raw sweetness for me.

Bottle at share. Mahogany pour, thin tan head. Aroma is rum, sweet malts, caramel. Taste is malty, sweet, toffee, pit fruit and more rum. Tasty and strong.

Had on tap. Lighter brown opaque pour, tan collar. Taste is the more layers and intense aspect with almond joy coconut leading with rum barrel, rich toffee, vanillins galore, almost a maple note too with the expected molasses. Barley is base level but preset. Nose is more barrel and coconut with molasses forward. Soooo smooth, yet booze, wood and barley all have a rarefied bite. Really impressed with this one. A purist's nightmare, a beer adventurer's dream
