Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival 2 fingers of off white head with a quick dissipation to a ring around the glass was present. The body is a dark opaque brown to burgundy. There is an attempt at lacing which is impressive for a wild sour.
Smell is verging on tart spiced cider with fruity and tart notes up front but the dark malts contribute a molasses and almost cinnamon aroma. Tart and black cherries mixed together or something. This is great.
Taste carries the tart cherry cider vibe and it is quite tasty. The finish does have a nice hint of caramel and roasted malts but it isn't too big.
Feel is dry with a moutcoating character and a longer finish. Surprisingly drinkable.
Overall this is a fun sour ale. Pretty dang sour for the color, but I pick up the malts without it being out if balance and things actually come off as a spiced cherry cider.
