12oz can. Poured out a clear, straw-yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It left thin trails of lace. It smelled of straw, hay and fresh cut grass. Sweet caramel and toffee taste with a touch of bitterness.

Getting together with old friends is always a great way to celebrate their birthdays. Crooked Stave meets up with Obermeyer hewers for a classic German-styled pilsner for friendship and celebration.
Bright gold and teeming with bubbles, Apres floats an airy white froth with a gentle floral hop scent of light fruitiness and floral arrangements. Its grainy-sweet taste greets the tongue with dry bread, cracker and a pep of honeysuckle.
As the lager washes the palate, the sweetness balances with a developing hop biter of peppery greens, hay and light mint. its moderate alcohol ensures an evaporative cooling on the finish to promote refreshment, cooling and drying to keep the late palate lively and brisk.
Drinking light like helles, the lager is an effortless, easy drinking and quick quaffer that is a testament that light lager isn’t just for industrial beer makers anymore.

Poured from a can. Golden in color with a white head. Smells of bread, honey and hints of fruit. Taste follows the smell, very smooth, slightly sweet, solid pilsner.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a Pilsener glass, date on can "03/21/24 which I understand to be the packaged date.
APPEARANCE: pours a hazy, light gold color with one-finger white head, average retention, the foam settled until a ring of foam remained around the rim of glass, lighter carbonation for the style, moderate lacing on the glass.
SMELL: bread, white crackers and some lemon citrus.
TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet with lemon citrus, white crackers and bread, there is a soft kiss of slightly dank hops on the finish.
PALATE: light body and lighter carbonation for the style.
OVERALL: this is a good but not great German Pils, it tasted just fine and that is the most important part but it was cloudy and that is not appropriate for the style and it lacked carbonation, I expect this style to be crisp with carbonation, I enjoyed this beer but would not seek out again as there are better beers to be found.

Supposedly this is a new recipe of this beer. Totally unconfirmed but why would the emporium meister lie?
L- Fine clear pale gold with smart 1 F white head gone in a NY half minute some decent lacing
S- Produce dept notes, some lemon flower note and a touch of dank.
T- Lemon pith bitterness at the front along with some dank with a tiny touch of sulfur, some light malt, yet overall the hops seem to be leaning more IPA than Pilsner.
F-Medium light body, light carbonation, dry astringent finish.
O- Overall a big disappointment. The citrus bitter pithiness seems to be hop related and is too dank for me. The lemon vibe helps but in the end this is way off what I like for a pilsner.

A snowy mountain top that I have seen - but not one that I have touched. A dream that I have had - but not one that has come true. Like living with odds that are always in your favor, but never seeing a girl that you desire. This beer is almost getting there - obtaining those things.
Rest well.
