Black appearance.
A rough pour yielded a small, noisy dark tan head which quickly dissipated; decent lacing remained.
Burnt wood, brown sugar & faint tart raspberry notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Chocolate syrup, burnt wood, mild cream & faint bourbon flavors.
A few years ago I would've raved about this, but it's so sticky and sweet that it hardly feels like beer to me now. The wood notes help, but overall it's not something I'd seek out again.
