Thanks to Retsinis for sharing this one at his' tasting.
Barrel Series # 1 - Belgian Strong Dark Ale aged in bourbon barrels.
Enjoy by 8/1/15.
Pours a hazy honey orange-brown with a foamy tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, toffee, dark fruit, bourbon, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with caramel, toffee, banana, spice, and bourbon flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty but has a better barrel aged presence in the smell in my opinion.
