This year we teamed up again with our great buddies at Bierstadt Lager to make a classic German-Style Helles Lager using all American ingredients including Pilsner malt from Leopold Bros. in Colorado and Audacia hops from Indie Hops.

Nice pile of foam in the tall Pilsner glass and clear amber brew. Taste is the classic Helles warm, malty cereal with a kiss of hops and a spicy note. A flavor like cookies but not overly sugary. Perfectly drinkable, light bodied, and endowed with a smooth, slightly sweet finish. This is one for the steins! From the 16 oz can purchased at San Diego Wine & Beer Co. Dated 4/19/2024.

16 oz can canned on 4/19/24 consumed on 6/14/24.
A&S: Pours a finger and a half of white head. The head retains in a thin layer. The beer is transparent lively yellow, with carbonation rising up. Sweet malts dominate, faint floral hops.
T&M: Doughy malts. very slight spicy hops towards the end of the taste. Dry finish, light bitterness and corn. Clean, crisp, and tingly, but still has some lingering taste and grit on teeth. Crazy good drinkability.
Overall: I'm not the biggest Lager fan over here (yet), but I thought this beer was solid. Enough substance where it didn't feel like I was drinking flavored sparkling water.
