Poured from a pint can, the body is a dark amber with a small white head. Not much lacing.
Aroma is a lightly sweet caramel, banana, malt and honey.
Taste follows nose with a more assertive rich malt flavor, though not too heavy by any means. A hint of bitterness keeps things in balance.
Mouthfeel is light but good carbonation. A bit of lightly sweet malt lingering upon finish.

Handsome shade of coppery orange in the Bellegems glass with plenty of foam. Light aroma of corn, straw, and alfalfa. Taste is malty and rich, but with a tangy edge. Some slight sweetness with flavors of roasted malt and a hint of caramel. Some leafy notes and an interesting complexity of cereal and herbs, but all quite elegant. Overall this is thoroughly enjoyable and actually seems like a different sort of brew from the endless recent Pilsners. I would be on the look out for more Czech-style Lagers if some of them were this good. From the 16 oz can purchased at O'Shea's Brewing. Date stamp illegible.

Clear, mahogany; soapy tan head, good retention and spotty lacing.
Smells sweet, bready, caramel, spice, licorice, pumpernickel bread, fennel.
Super bready, pumpernickel, toasted, crusty; sweet, burnt sugar; hay, fennel, pepper, and star anise on the finish. Crisp, clean, lingering stickiness and subtle sweetness.
Delicious beer. Not the *best* Czech amber I've ever had, but good regardless. My only issue with it is its categorization: I'd say it's a flawless German dunkel lager, but subpar as a Czech amber. ;-)
But classifications aside, it tastes good, and that's all that matters.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a nice opaque amber color with a little bit of off-white head. The nose is lovely. Freshly baked bread, biscuits, light caramel, malts, and a slight earthy note. A bit of wheat and an ever-so-subtle smokiness.
The taste is really smooth. Bread, banana, biscuit, pie crust, slight peppery spice, and a really mild bitterness. Very lovely beer.
The mouthfeel is a bit light and dry, with a slight bready aftertaste.

I don’t know… Sinbad on The Seven Seas, Buster Keaton riding a train, Limburg in an airplane, Gretzky on ice skates, and the raddest bull you’ve ever seen in the ring… That’s this beer. Sublime. Superb. Sensational.
