Our famous Foliage Pale Ale was reincarnated into Foliage American Pale Lager. Orange in color with sweet toffee, caramel and malty flavors complimented by clean citrus bitterness and aroma.

On tap at Enegren Brewing Company in Moorpark, CA.

Pours a clear copper with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, earth, and spicy hop aromas. Taste is much the same with malt, citrus zest, pine needle, and earth flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that has a nice mix of different hop qualities that work together slightly better in the smell to me.

Serving type: on tap.

Right off the brewer's notes, they used a combination of malts, German Pilsner, Munich Malt & Melanoidin Malt along with 4 hops, Cascade
Nugget,Chinook, & Mt. Hood.

Had a 4 oz taster at the brewery, before filling a two liter growler. This review is based upon a full 10 oz pour into a tulip glass from the growler the following day.

A: The beer pours a luminous but hazy copper color with a 1/2 inch of white head to sticks around. Light bubbles coat and slide down the glass.

S: Scents of biscuits, wheat toast, crisp earthy minerals, light herbal earthy hop notes.

T: Flavors of medium sweet malt, light to medium earthy and herbal hop bitterness, caramael in the middle, and biscuits. Refreshing.

M: Light to medium consistency in the mouth, mild dry bitterness on the finish.

O: Good session ale, great with pizza, or after a hard day at work or school. Good pale ale, better than most considering to me the style itself is not overly complex, but you can pick out some nuances in this, and it goes down easy and smooth.
