A 330ml bottle with a BB of Oct 2018. Purchased a while back from the Brewdog webshop. A collaborative brew between Omnipollo and Buxton; brewed at the Buxton brewery. The ingredients include lactose - I presume the idea is that it will resemble a lemon meringue.

A: Poured into a large tulip. Bottle conditioned. A rich, hazy amber hue with fine suspended sediment and modest carbonation. Yields a decent head of white foam that rapidly settles and dissipates.

S: Aroma of tart lemon with hints of lemon rind, zest, sourness and subtle earthiness. Remarkably focussed, with no malt or hop character muddying the water. Very nice.

T: Tastes of sour lemon with notes of lemon peel, zest, citric acid, mild lactose sweetness, earthiness and a twinge of malt. Definitely on the sour side, though the lactose provides a degree of balance. No bitterness to speak of.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with prickly carbonation and good body. Pretty astringent; the acidity dries the palate. Aftertaste of sharp lemon, rind, mild sweetness and earthiness.

O: Superb - an incredible beer facsimile of a lemon meringue pie. Looks good, while the aroma and flavour are fantastically sour and lemony. Great body. An excellent flavour combination with lovely balance. Very drinkable and a must for sour beer fans. Seek it out.

330 ml bottle, Brew Cavern, Nottingham - Pours light cloudy golden yellow with a small white head which quickly dissipates, Medium carbonation. Aroma - citrusy lemon overnotes, green hoppy background, hints of resin. Taste - Sweet, citrus front, light tart feel, citrus hoppy notes, resin notes, light bitter finish. Stands as its own. Quite remarkable from these magician breweries.

Murky pale color with creamy, white head. Aroma is lemony and lactic with some herbal hop notes. Taste starts sweet-sour with lemon notes, continues with hop notes and lingers on the aftertaste with tart lemon and just a hint of hop bitterness. Medium body and carbonation, really dry on the finish and aftertaste. Overall it's an interesting combination of a berliner weisse and a pale ale.
