Double the fruit, double the fun. That's how Omnipollo rolls into their double raspberry Gose. Shifting from the Leipzig traditions into something much more favorable for the fruit and milk sugars shows a succulent sweetness of pastry proportions.
Bianca Double Raspberry Lassi Gose pours with an ominously dark ruby, mauve and almost purple hue. Clinging to the glass with impressive berry-stained legging, then capped with a hearty neon lavender froth, the beer simply oozes with raspberry aromas. The nose is quickly saturated with a full and condensed raspberry character in all its juicy and fortified glory. Sweet, tangy and chocked full of berries, the ale's early impressions are that of plum wine, cobbler and pre-set jello.
And as the beer's more supportive nuances strive for attention, their lemon, lime, cider and wine-like tones pale in comparison to the fruit. Musty with hints of wine-drenched balsa, cork and burlap, a mild mannered salinity gives the fruit a more rounded and amplified character. Lightly tannic with fruit skins and vinous spice, the taste remains firm, creamy and incredibly smoothie-like.
Medium-bodied, perhaps full for sour, the beer's dense fruit flavors have it drinking nearly like a sipping sweet wine. Hinging on nuances of tar and sweet pipe tobacco, a stone fruit flavor follows with a sour brine and a long fruit-forward aftertaste. Its a remarkable beer with a undeniable fruit and sour balance.

16oz can served in a little Red Hook sample glass. If there's a date, I don't see it.
Pours murky purple with a small white head. Smell is super jammy with a little sea-air saltiness behind it.
Taste is jammy as hell, raspberry puree with a little salt added in. There's another bitter or funky flavor lurking around in there that I can't pick out clearly.
Mouthfeel is fairly thick. Overall, nice beer.
