On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, as Kinn Ekstra God Bitter. ABV is 5%. Hazy golden colour, low white head. Distinct aroma of (English?) hops - both fruity, grassy and earthy notes. The flavour is neither too sweet nor too dry, a little fruit first, then earthy and herbal hops take over. Reasonably bitter finish. A well made premium bitter.

Served from 0.75 bottle, 5 months old. Batch #566
States on the label that this is their own version of an ESB. Hops used are EKG, Fuggles and Amarillo and all hop additions are sub 30 mins.
A - Dark orange color. Quite hazy, but that might be because of the way it was handled before drinking. Head quickly resides to a thin lacing.
S - Malt profile is that of a typical ESB, but I feel it maybe is a bit too one dimensional and that it lacks some of the deeper nutty aromas of the best versions of this style. Some citrus aromas from what I think is hops are also evident. After smelling for a while maybe even some diacetyl.
T - OK there is definitely something wrong with this. I get fusel alcohols that last all the way through, can't detect any diacetyl in the taste though.
M - low carbonation, medium body, a bit of astrigency
O - Well this was not a good example - probably something wrong with the bottle. I bought this beer at a local Vinmonopol in Trondheim and it has been standing on a warm shelf for probably a few months so... I think i'll have to try this again from a different source.
