We have collaborated with eight Chilean craft brewers visiting the UK to create MAQUI CHILENO. Elusive Maqui berries, grown only in Patagonia are added to British blackcurrants. The result is a complex malty ale bearing a rich golden hue with a subtle purple tint and hints of soft berry flavours before a lightly bitter finish.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley ,malted wheat , hops and yeast maqui berries and blackcurrants

440ml can.
L: Murky, red/amber colour with a small head that collapses quickly to nothing.
S: Berries: sharp up-front with an earthy backdrop. Slightly medicinal.
T: Black tea and red currant. Bitterness is light.
F: Light mouthfeel with a dry ish finish.
O: An English bitter with added Chilean fruit. Who’d have thought? Sounds odd but it works. A bit of a novelty but it’s refreshing on a summer’s day. The berries add some sour bite and the overall brew is nicely balanced, almost delicate.
