Picked this up at the biggest beer store in the UK, Beers of Europe Ltd. Hazy, dark amber pour with huge three finger head with great retention and lacing. Very earthy, herbal nose with lots of bready malt and hints of resiny hops, toffee, and caramel. The taste is extremely earthy like the nose. Spicy, peppery hop notes are offset nicely with a solid sweet, malty backbone. Very herbal with hints of toffee, tea, caramel and just a touch of spruce. Nice dry but slightly thick and chewy finish. Really opens up once it warms up. Much bolder than most ESB's I've had and a lot less bitter. A very unique interpretation of an ESB.
