We’ve brewed up a bit of our local logging history and crafted a Pilsner-Style Lager that offers up a hint of our home. Like the surrounding Northwest forests we call our back yard, this beer is complex in its subtleties. From a clean malty profile to a moderate Noble-hop flavor and aroma, our Lager combines local ingredients and inspiration, which results in a beer that's a cut above the rest.

The good news is that Leavenworth is gorgeous. The not-so-good news was this Pilsner, which was just mediocre. I had about half the pint, but that was it. On tap at Munchen Haus in Leavenworth.

this is really super mediocre, not way off, but totally uninspired and uninspiring, i wanted more from it, and i remain pretty up and down on icicle, this seems oddly lazy to me, could be the bar i had it at maybe, but it was on the flat side, malty without any real flavor from the grain beyond the generic, and the stillness of this is unappetizing. i do like the european breadiness and crackery character to the pils malt, but i wish this wasnt sweet or heavy. the yeast seems old worldy too, but like it needs more time, this isnt real well refined to me. not much hops happening either, more would crisp the finish some, but this isnt out of proportion, its just unexciting. a mindless drinker for me, and i have come to expect a little more from a good example of the style, the crispness is missing, and its a little more than just a lack of carbonation. these guys can and should do better than this, even B level would have hit for me, wasnt asking for the world. hopefully a work in progress, but with these guys i just dont know. neither clean nor refreshing, but no awful...

Bottle from Safeway. Why call it a pils when your description says pale lager? Tastes like. F@#$ing pale lager. Grains out the wazoo. Hops? Where? Grainy, bready lager. Not a pils.

Clear gold in color with a big attractive foam in the tall glass. Light body with the usual crisp mouthfeel. Aromatic with the distinctive flowery European hops that make me think of a Kölsch.

Perfumey and slightly resiny. Perfectly adequate American version of a Pilsener. It's actually less bitter than average but pleasingly hoppy. Dry finish with some resins in the aftertaste. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Pioneer Market in La Conner.
