Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a one finger dark khaki head that seemed fizzy at first, but had great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, raspberry and cocoa. Flavor is dark toasted malt with slight char, raspberry and milk chocolate. Lingering raspberry chocolate finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess and active carbonation. Another interesting dessert take in stout form, in this case a torte. Actually only semi-sweet with a dry finish, so not a dessert stout. However, they nailed the raspberry torte flavor with good chocolate and bright, fresh raspberry flavor. A slight tartness in the finish from the berries, but well within my comfort zone. Slightly overcarbonated, but quite enjoyable. I've liked both the variants of this stout.
