Tried this at the Bourbon Bacon Beer Festival in Fort Wayne, IN.
A - Bright gold that is somewhat cloudy from the yeast. Nice white head with light lacing.
S - Has a fruity ester smell and some sweeter malt mixing with a slight sourness.
T - Upfront fruity tartness with malt and some floral hops. It is slightly sour but there is enough malt sweetness in the middle to balance. Similar to a saison but with less Belgian character and more malt flavor.
M - Light mouth-feel with high carbonation. Has a lighter mouth feel but there is some body from the malt base.
Overall, the best De Garde I've had but not my favorite style overall. The last example I had was more tart and less flavorful than this beer and I like this beers flavor profile more. I suggest that you try this one if you come to the New Boswell Tap Room.
Glass- 4oz. Tasting glass.
