A collaboration brew with Ironside Roasting Company and an inviting and approachable beer. Pitch black in color and filled with sweet coffee and light smoke aromas, this beer is big, dark and delicious. Sunday Mourning has light vanilla notes and an approachable, not overbearing booziness. A perfectly balanced and delicious stout to enjoy on any day, even in the morning.

Not a big fan of coffee or coffee flavored beer so I'm surprised I gave it as high a rating as I did. It must have been decent in some respects. Probably sampled my wife's beer as she liked this style.

not sure if this is always barrel aged or not, but the version i had certainly was, 2017 edition served at their awesome black friday event. if the barrel version should get a separate listing, someone let me know. its weird beer, not as maple and coffee forward as i thought it would be, in fact im not even sure these elements are in the beer at all, what else would a breakfast stout mean? obviously oat heavy, that part they got down, but it seems like time hasnt necessarily been amazing to this one, with a little green pepper suggesting coffee fade, and some bitterness too, but little coffee flavor. the barrel has some tannins and some smoke to it, and this almost seems like it has a chili element or something. not at all what i was expecting, but as i drink it, i start to like it more and more. some serious malt depth here, a lot of bitterness, deep roast, chocolate, barrel char, and oat protein. its thick but not sweet, seemingly slightly past its prime, but still really good. its hard to make a real distinct barrel aged stout anymore, so many of the good ones all taste so similar, so it was nice to stumble into a weird one, but its best days are behind it at this point. im not sure what this would be like without the barrel, if such a beer even exists. fun but not amazing anymore, if it ever was...

On tap at the Payette tap room. Black with thin beige head, some coffee comes through in the aroma and taste, but not overwhelming, just enough to add some of that coffee bitterness. High ABV adds warmth. I’m not a fan of coffee stouts, but this one’s pretty good.
