On tap @ Homestead Bar & Grill, Meridina ID.
A: Hazy gold with off-white head and great lacing.
S: Big caramel and toffee...rye as well, maybe? Whiskey notes of vanilla and fruity sweetness.
T: Leads with that big barleywine backbone of caramel and toffee sweetness and big bready malt characteristics. Nice underlying citrus character, hops maybe?
MF: Creamy smooth body, full mouthfeel, a touch sticky, alcohol is well hidden.
O: Bravo Payette, this is a well-executed barrel-aged barleywine.

Crowler from Payette taphouse. As if the base barleywine wasn't boozy enough, the whiskey barrels add another level, big whiskey aroma, and in the taste more whiskey barrel. The barrels seems to bring out the best in this BW, super tasty, but quite a kick.
