On tap in Boise ID.
Pours a very clear straw color with a whispy white head...impressions of baking spices and cinnamon on the nose, apple skins and sweetness...taste follows with minimal sourness, hints of tartness...baking spices...brown sugar...green apple...light crispy mouthfeel.
Overall an unimpressive kettle 'sour'.

the latest in this series of uniquely flavored kettle sour ales. clean and clear looking, with a tangy nose as much from apple skins it seems as from lacto, the sourness is cleaner than others in the series, and modest next to the tart fruit, a nice marriage there. the apples taste both green and red to me, vanilla is natural but really strong, and cinnamon is also obvious. this is like sour apple pie on the palate, really light on beery elements like grain and hops, but the apples and pucker give it a neat almost wild cider vibe, definitely unique. its a touch sweet with the vanilla, and i immediately wish for a little less of this aspect in here, its too much, and less would be better. the cinnamon is nice, maybe some clove or nutmeg behind it, keeps it autumnal with the ripe and honest apple in here, some light wheat maybe too, but the rest of this is really light. acidity is middle of the road, but the finish is clean and fresh tasting, the essence of the apple pushing through everything else here, including all the vanilla. they made this a touch more desserty than it needed to be, but it cool beer, and i reckon this series keeps getting better and better. enjoyable and drinkable as this sort of thing goes. not over spiced. cool sour for the fall.
