i wanted to love this, we are in need of some more and some better crispy local lagers, but this tasted cheap to me, too thin in feel and slightly chemical as it warms, not as clean and bright as i was hoping for, and oddly doughy on the yeast side in the absence of more pils malt to balance it out. not a bad effort, but this isnt the tidy pounder i was after, although there could be an issue with the line or something, i will try this again from the pint cans i have seen around town in recent weeks. very pale yellow in color, real clear, and with a short but fizzy white head. it smells pretty minimal, lightly floral and grassy from the hops, and with a slight raw element from the yeast, a bit european to me, but not obviously german or czech or anything. it tastes rather basic too, soapy to me at the swallow, not messy necessarily, but not clean either, less of a mineral profile than i like in the best of these, and not quite as dry. its missing something, even though i taste all the elements, and it has a sort of plastic note at the very end. best when ice cold, and refreshing then with all the bubbles. i know these guys to be capable of greatness, and i had much higher hopes for this, its almost too light, and its flaws are a bit exposed. hopefully this was an issue with the bar and not with the beer, will find out soon...

16oz can from Craft Brewers. Pale yellow pour, thin skin of head. Sharp malty aroma, hint of lemon. Lemon notes more pronounced in the taste, biscuity malts, minor hops bite.
